So it was a lecture time and surprisingly instead of a long lecture we have been played a movie, not just any movie... The WAR OF THE WORLDS with Tom cruise.
obvious beginning, Stir among locals caused by unexplaineg giant tornado hole in the sky really intense keeps the audience on their toes.
Out of nowhere, silence the tornado calms and lightning then strikes multiple times firstly to drive the main character and his family inside his house to then make them curl in terror under the table.
Everybody moves out after it goes quiet and heads straight to the point of lightning striking after a while of stillness and silence, massive eruption and eathquake destroying nearby buildings and devouring some people, pretty much obvious by now the word comes to mind ''Aliens'' And just as everybody thinks it couldn't get worse, loud horn calls from the sky making a shiver to run down the spine and then massive unexplained tripod like machine emerges from the dark depth of crack in the ground.
Key points of the story:
Storm on the sky,
Mass confussion and calmness
Lightning stikes
Gathering around lighting striking area
Earthquakes and destruction
Louds horns
Panic and destruction as alien tripod emerges.
Things observed.
The use of sound, allowing the background noizes like passing car or people chatting in the distance, builds up tention, people can pick up multiple signs just from the surrounding.
Use of lighting, Especially when lightning was striking and main characters hid under the table, the flashes and sudden darkness that surrounded the town, makes whole scene intense making the viewer to do exactly this same
Camera rotation, you can see how chaotically the camera moves, giving the impression of 1 st to 3rd person camera recording, as if the movie was literally recorded by someone who belonged with the main charecter, like a friend.
Perspective, quite often you can see the perspective of the character in appointed moment giving the direct character impression feeling, first hand experience of the main character.
